Wendell Foster is seeking a compassionate and energetic Occupational Therapist to join our Outpatient Services team of #DifferenceMakers!

As an Occupational Therapy Aide at Wendell Foster, you'll support the Occupational Therapy department in its day-to-day operations while helping ensure that individuals receiving therapy have access to the equipment, supplies, and support they need. Working under the direction of an Occupational Therapist, you'll play an important role in creating an organized, clean, and supportive environment that promotes independence and meaningful participation for individuals with disabilities.

What matters to us:

  • High school diploma or G.E.D. required
  • Experience working with individuals with intellectual/developmental disabilities preferred
  • Valid driver's license and insurable driving record
  • Possess or be able to obtain First Aid and CPR certification; training provided
  • Communication skills adequate for assigned tasks
  • Ability to relate positively to the clinical population being served
  • Ability to communicate information about an individual's condition, when needed
  • Basic computer skills and ability to learn specialized software
  • Basic reading, writing, and math skills
  • Ability to use a calculator
  • Dependable, organized, and able to work effectively under the direction of an Occupational Therapist

What you'll do:

  • Update inventory of equipment and perform equipment checks
  • Clean and organize the Occupational Therapy department
  • Ensure equipment is properly cleaned to promote infection control
  • Escort individuals to and from treatment sessions, as needed
  • Assist Occupational Therapists with quality improvement activities
  • Ensure the department is stocked with office supplies and therapy supplies needed for daily operations
  • Complete purchase orders for supplies and equipment repairs under the supervision of Occupational Therapist(s)
  • Make copies of necessary materials to support the day-to-day operation of the department
  • Contact vendors by telephone to assist with troubleshooting equipment repairs
  • Maintain records for the Occupational Therapy department
  • Ensure storage areas remain organized and accessible for efficient department operations
  • Support Occupational Therapists and the Occupational Therapy department with other duties as assigned
