Wendell Foster is interested in hiring energetic Person Centered Specialist for our Intermediate Care Facility to join the team of #DifferenceMakers!

- Hours: Hours vary based on resident needs during waking hours, with some evenings and weekends expected.

What matters to us:
- High School diploma or G.E.D. preferred
- Possession of valid driver’s license and insurable driving record
- Currently possess or able to complete first aid and CPR certification (training provided)
- Communicate well with others including staff and our individuals
Essential Functions:
- Ensures the safety and well-being of individuals at all times.
- Completes routine checks to ensure the whereabouts and safety of individuals.
- Ensures verbal/written report before leaving shift.
- Frequently assists in pool and hydrotherapy with individuals.
- Work closely with the QIDP and PC Trainers to ensure person-centered practices.
- Understands individual’s rights and displays respect and dignity when interacting with individuals.
- Understands facility policy on the correct way to report any suspected form of abuse which may be observed and/or reported.
- Ensures, completes, and follows through with individuals’ daily routine and activities.
- Helps individuals travel to appointments and activities on and off the grounds of the organization.
- Accompany individuals to appointments and/or community activities, as indicated by cottage management and the QIDP.
- Assists with recreational and community activities as indicated by cottage management and QIDP.
- Assists the individual with transportation, whether through WF’s transportation program, city transportation, or by personally driving a WF vehicle.
- Assists the QIDP with the individuals’ assessments to determine training needs in areas of self-help, activities of daily living, and socialization skills.
- Conducts, teaches and ensures training programs, reinforcement programs and maintenance programs, as related to individuals’ individual service plan and document effectiveness of programs appropriately.
- Reports any individual’s clothing and equipment needs and/or repairs to appropriate person/department and notifies supervisor and/or QIDP.
- Reports any interdisciplinary problems or concerns to the Supervisor, or Vice President of ICF/IID.
- Helps in the training of new person-centered specialists
